Bakhtiari carpets are called the "garden carpets" owing to flower and tendril motifs filled within geometrical compartments. This pattern style is called "Kheshti Design". They are known for the lattice designs with floral patterns.

Major colors and shades used in Bakhtiari carpets are shades of white and ivory, red and brown, greens and yellows. Blue was sparsely used. The pile is highly glossy with a medium to high clipping. Natural dyes are used on the yarn and the pile is tied with a turkish knot with varying density. The wraps and wefts are of cotton and the pile of wool. The pile may be dull to extremely glossy.
