We lived in Sweden for 9 years, and everyone has a Trasmatta. Many houses still have a weaving room and you will often see weaving machines in real estate pictures of countryside houses. It’s no longer economical to make these rugs in Sweden, so we have these made in India. We also added a luxurious suede edge which makes the rug lay flat on the ground, looks stylish and protects the edges from wear and tear. The main body of the rug is cotton.
